The Palmyra-Macedon Central School District covers 48.5 square miles with two elementary schools (the Intermediate School in the Village of Macedon and the Primary School in the Village of Palmyra) and a District Campus consisting of the Middle School and High School and sitting on the border of Palmyra and Macedon. The students total just over 2,000 district-wide and the academic achievements include Pal-Mac High School being named to Newsweek magazine's Top of the Class List (Top 6% of high schools in the nation).

WOW: 🌑🌑Take a look at some of these out-of-this-world pictures from last night's partial lunar eclipse!

Our high school earth science teacher, Mr. Perry, captured these late last night/early this morning.

A partial lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon and casts its shadow on the lunar surface.

This also creates a "blood moon" effect because sunlight turns the covered portion into a copper or reddish-orange glow.

TEAMWORK: We're preparing for the new school year in many ways, including our Red Raider crosswalks!

Our community partners at the Palmyra Highway Department are putting down a fresh coat of paint, and they're looking GREAT!

The crosswalks will then be complete with the Pal-Mac Red Raider logo, courtesy of BOE Vice President Mr. Dave Landon.

RED RAIDER READY: ❤️🤍PMP is helping our students be ready for the first day in a fun way!

The school hosted its annual "Red Raider Ready Day" on Wednesday, and it featured everything from a clever scavenger hunt, to teacher meet and greets, and much more.

The final find on the hunt was a trip to the playground, of course!

PAL-MAPS DOES IT AGAIN: At Pal-Mac, we're all about providing a positive and welcoming environment for our community, and a group of PMI students are doing just that!

The school's team of student leaders and greeters known as "Pal-Maps" served as volunteer guides during yesterday's Third Grade Orientation.

Team members gave guided tours, led their new classmates to their new classes, and even helped answer some questions!

WELCOME, SIXTH GRADERS: Our newest middle schoolers had their first chance to explore their new school yesterday!

We were excited to welcome this year's sixth grade class as part of our annual orientation day.

Students toured the building, learned expectations, met with their new teachers, and even took part in some fun team building activities!

The school was named to the top 5 in the Greater Rochester Area, and placed within the top 50 in the state in college readiness and College Curriculum Breadth.

From our rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme to our many future-ready pathways, our students and staff continue to reach new heights.

ORIENTATION PREP: A group high school student leaders were hard at work today as they get ready to welcome their freshmen friends next week!

Students mapped out their tours, talked strategy, and even made some signs!

A reminder about our rundown of orientations, which kick off tomorrow morning:

🏫 PMP's Red Raider Ready Day will go from 10am to noon tomorrow.
🏫 Third Grade Orientation will take place tomorrow at PMI from 1-2pm
🏫 Sixth Grade Orientation will take place from 9-11am tomorrow.

🏫 🏫 Our freshmen will have their orientation at the high school next Tuesday (9/1), with check in starting at 8:30am. The event will run until 12:15, with lunch served at noon.

A further reminder to reach out to your student's respective building (s) with any questions.
