Stop Chunking and Blading Your Chips ⛳

One of the biggest keys to solid chip shots is having the proper spine tilt at address.

By keeping your weight slightly favoring your lead side and your chest positioned just ahead of the ball, you’ll encourage a clean, descending strike—leading to more consistent contact and better distance control.

Great chipping isn’t about making a bigger swing. It’s about creating the right setup and letting the club do the work.

Watch the video and give this simple setup adjustment a try. Your contact—and your confidence around the greens—will improve.

⛳️ Welcome to Lake Monticello, Brian Robinson! ⛳️
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our new Golf Course Superintendent, Brian Robinson!
Brian is a Virginia Tech graduate from their Turfgrass Program and brings valuable experience from the Pete Dye River Course, Blacksburg Country Club, Meadowcreek, and Spring Creek. He’s worked alongside some outstanding leaders in the industry and has a true passion for delivering excellent course conditions.
Golf has always been a big part of Brian’s life—starting at a young age and continuing through competitive play and into his career.
Brian and his wife, Carrie, live in Ruckersville with their two daughters, Rhea (4) and Kinsey (2). When he’s not on the course, you’ll likely find him spending time with his family (and staying busy with two little ones!).
Brian is excited to meet our members, get to know everyone, and continue enhancing the golf experience here at Lake Monticello for years to come.
