We’re excited to share several upcoming training opportunities designed to support families, youth with disabilities, and the professionals who work alongside them. These sessions focus on informed consent, AI, and helping young people prepare for life after high school.

Below is a quick overview of what’s coming up:

April 22nd – 6:00 pm – Informed Consent for Youth when it comes to services for the future – this training is for youth 12-22 years old – to learn more and to register, https://peatc.org/event/informed-consent-youth-training/

AI can be a powerful tool for planning your future. In this interactive session, youth will learn how AI can help with school, career exploration, and navigating services like vocational rehabilitation and independent living—while learning how to use AI safely and responsibly.

When families understand the process, better support can grow.

Our quarterly SPED Series is designed to help families understand special education processes, rights, and tools that help students in preparing them for further education, employment, and independent living. Join us as we dive into this quarter’s topics and build stronger partnerships for student success.

Tuesday March 24th: Training on Informed Consent for Parents of Youth with Disabilities

Join PEATC and the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM EST for an essential workshop on the principles of informed consent. This session is designed specifically for parents of youth with disabilities to help them navigate understanding information, asking the right questions, and ensuring their child is at the center of decision-making. Participants will learn how informed consent is applied within Vocational Rehabilitation to help students make confident, well-informed choices about their futures. Please note that this live Zoom webinar will not be recorded, so be sure to register to participate in this important conversation.

Addressing Behaviors Confidently
👉 Learn How to Help Your Child Be Successful at Home & School!

This presentation shares different ways to understand social and emotional needs and support our child’s growth and development. Learn strategies to calm difficult moments, make daily routines run more smoothly, and learn about the school-based support available, including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). You will leave with practical ideas and resources you can start using right away, along with a clearer understanding of how to work with your child’s teachers to help set your child up for success.
