Ayla. Ayla is a strong first grade reader that spends a lot of her free time, well, READING!
Ayla read a whopping 80 minutes!

📗 Our reading log Bookworm for the week of October 14-18 was.. Drumroll again, please!
Rhyett! Rhyett loves a challenge and read a total of 120 minutes!

📘 Huge shoutout to Mrs. Colbert for 3d printing us an actual Bookworm trophy for our desk!

📙 Each winner gets a picture with our award and trophy. The trophy and award is displayed on tthe winner’s desk for the week! Oh, and did I mention the winner gets a candy bar of their choice?!

Is anyone else shopping Amazon Prime Days?!

I told my littles I would be shopping for a classroom carpet big enough for us to all sit on. Our imaginary carpet has “seen” better days! 🤣

On a serious note, how cute is this alphabet rug on our wish list?? Better question, how do we get it in our classroom?!

🎶 Let tell you ‘bout my best.. READERS!🎶

This year my class is participating in the St. Louis Blues Bookworm Program! They need to read for 1000 minutes by January to earn a FREE ticket to a Blues game!

So we need to read around 80 minutes a week to get there. Guess what?! That’s their reading logs, so they are already doing the work!!

I wanted to break it into smaller goals so it felt more attainable.

As Jeff Probst would say, the class has spoken! 🗿🪶🛖
Each month, we will focus on a character trait/skill. September’s character trait was self-discipline. In first grade terms, we set goals and timers and tried to accomplish them every day!

The class voted for the classmate showing the most self-discipline, and I agree with their decision!

Rylynn is a a hard worker that finishes every task she sets her mind to.

We had the bestest little visitor today - Lio!
Lio had so much fun meeting everyone!
He showed off his tricks and his professional level of napping.
I think I can say this was the BEST DAY EVER!
