Manatee School For the Arts

Manatee School For the Arts Manatee School For the Arts In addition to MSA's students' excellence in the arts, the school highly stresses the academic success of each child.

Having the highest graduation rate in Manatee County, MSA students are actively involved in their academic success through all levels of coursework, including dual enrollment for college credit. By infusing the arts in all academic programs, MSA's teachers allow students to relate to their coursework through many of the multiple intelligences. The school's staff is dedicated to meeting students at

their comfort level and expanding their knowledge in all they do. Manatee School for the Arts is dedicated to infusing middle- and high-school curriculum with visual and performing arts. Students in Grade 6 have electives which include Intro to Dance, Music, Theater, Computer Graphics, and Art. These classes allow sixth grade students to explore visual and performing arts first-hand and get an idea of what electives they would be interested in for their following years. In Grade 7, students are allowed to take up electives that focus more in a specific area in the arts, including Ballroom, Tap/Jazz, Ballet, and Modern Dance, Chorus, Band, Orchestra, Keyboard, Theater, 2D/3D Art, and much more. In high school, they aforementioned courses are still available; however, the classes are broken down into levels of experience.

Happy Monday MSA!

It's hard to believe we've already completed our second week of school. Our students have done an outstanding job settling into their routines, classrooms are filled with learning and creativity, and our campus has been buzzing with positive energy. It has been wonderful to see students reconnect with friends, meet new classmates, and begin discovering new opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. We finished last week with grade level assemblies and a Town Hall Q/A meeting with the Principal. I always have a great time engaging with students, answering questions, and listening to their ideas!

Thank you for your continued support and partnership during these first two weeks. A successful school year is built on strong relationships between home and school, and we are grateful to have such an incredible community working together to support our students.

Happy Monday MSA!

We had a great first week of school! Overall, things went very smoothly, and it was wonderful to have our students back on campus and see the energy throughout MSA. Thank you for your patience and support as everyone settles into new schedules and routines. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to a fantastic school year together!

Please make sure to take some time to review MSA Welcome Information 2026-27. This was sent last week. You will find some very important information concerning the Focus Parent Portal, Parent Car Loop, dress code, safety and security, etc. Please take time to review the important safety information video for reporting threats. https://sites.google.com/msaschool.org/welcome-info-2025-2026/home

Back to School Night for grades 7-12 is next week! 6th graders already had their Back to School Orientation last week. This is an opportunity to follow your student’s schedule and meet teachers.
Grades 9-12 - Wednesday, 8/19, 6-7:30PM
Grades 7-8 - Thursday, 8/20, 6-7:30PM

Please be very patient for pick up and drop off in the car loop area. The first week is always busier as new parents are learning procedures and some students are still waiting to get on their bus. We are doing a lot better and pretty soon we will be finishing the car loop by 4:55ish, which is our normal timing. As a reminder, cars need to pull up all the way and we will have students come to you when it is safe and when all traffic has stopped. Please do not get out of your car to get your child. When dropping off your student in the morning please also use the Parent Car Loop. Make sure to pack a small umbrella or rain jacket in your student’s backpack:)

Senior Cookout! MSA will be hosting a cookout for all of our seniors next Friday, Aug. 21, at 7PM, in the Student Center. Your favorite Admin Team will be cooking the burgers and dogs. There will also be live music by some of our bands. This will be a fun time to hang out and kick off the senior year!
