Miami artist Xavier Cortada created this urban reforestation eco-art project to help restore native habitats for plants and animals in urban areas.
Native Flags (www.nativeflags.org) is a participatory eco-art project created by international artist, Xavier Cortada, to help regrow the native tree canopy one yard at a time. Participating residents are asked to plant a native tree alongside the green project flag in their front yard and state:
“I hereby reclaim this land for nature.”

Join us for Open Studio every Sunday from 9am - 2pm during the Pinecrest Gardens Farmer's Market. Once inside, visitors can view Cortada’s workplace and artwork, learn about his practice, and purchase one of Cortada's prints.
