ArtSouth, A Not-For-Profit Corporation

ArtSouth, A Not-For-Profit Corporation ArtSouth opened its doors to the public with a core group of under 10 artists.

The mission of ArtSouth is to inspire understanding and appreciation of the arts for historically underrepresented communities by providing inclusive cultural access to exhibitions, performances and educational programs. Since 2000, ArtSouth has impacted thousands of families and generated vitality into struggling Miami-Dade County neighborhoods lacking cultural resources by supplying award-winning arts programming, educational opportunities and community-based cultural enrichment activities. In 2013, ArtSouth moved from Homestead to a central location in South Miami where we impact additional residents who benefit from our celebrated educational programs, presence at festivals, exhibitions, performances, concerts, drumming circles, and painting parties. We are currently working to acquire a property across the street from our current office to transform into a new home and cultural arts center for the South Miami and surrounding community.

Yesterday’s incredible exhibition featuring works by members of ArtSouth’s Art Dormitory at Everglades Correctional Institution. So grateful to everyone who came out to support these artists and celebrate the power of creativity, dignity, and art. It was inspiring to see the community come together around art, storytelling, and meaningful work. 🎨✨
