Celebrating 83 incredible MSBSD retirees tonight. Thank you for the years of service, dedication, and impact you’ve had on generations of students and staff across our District. Congratulations on your retirement and the next chapter ahead. 🎉

Tonight, we had the honor of celebrating 83 incredible MSBSD retirees whose combined years of service have impacted generations of students, families, and staff across our District. Their retirement represents a tremendous loss of experience, knowledge, and dedication for our schools, but also a celebration of careers spent making a difference in kids' lives.
Thank you for the countless hours, the relationships you built, the encouragement you gave students, and the lasting impact you leave behind. We are grateful for your service and wish each of you the very best in retirement.
Congratulations to the MSBSD Retirees of 2025–2026. 🎉

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors, prize donors, food trucks, and community partners for making last week’s Employee Appreciation Event such a success. We saw even more staff and families attend this year than last year, despite the weather not being quite as nice.
Thank you to the Mat-Su Health Foundation for their generous sponsorship of the event, and to Thrive for providing activities for kids throughout the day. We also appreciate all of the food trucks and vendors that offered special deals and discounts for our staff.

Today is the MSBSD Employee Appreciation Event in downtown Palmer during Friday Fling.
This community-supported event recognizes the incredible work of MSBSD teachers and staff as we wrap up the school year. Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy Friday Fling activities, food vendors, games, bouncy houses, and more.
A special thank you to Mat-Su Health Foundation and our many local sponsors for making this event possible. The event is coordinated by MSBSD and fully funded through community partnerships.
You may have noticed something new at MSBSD graduation ceremonies this year. Some students are wearing medals recognizing Honors and Honors with Distinction.
What does that mean?
The Mat-Su Borough School District now offers three diploma options: Standard, Honors, and Honors with Distinction.
Nearly one-third of this year's graduates earned either Honors or Honors with Distinction. That means they not only met the requirements for the Standard Diploma, which already has the highest graduation standards in Alaska, but also went above and beyond by completing additional advanced coursework.
Three diplomas. One goal. Preparing all students for success.
Special thanks to the students from Colony High who helped with this video.
