e throughout Alaska. NIT was established as a response to the growing demands from the Transportation, Oil & Gas, and Construction industries. NIT was founded with the concept of providing classroom and hands on training to not only meet, but exceed basic requirements for the people of Alaska. NIT has licensed instructors throughout Palmer, Fairbanks, the Kenai Peninsula, and Southeast Alaska. Our carefully designed training programs allow us to provide high quality training in all of our target fields, enabling graduates to succeed at employment in their chosen careers. Our programs are approved by the Alaska Commission on Post-Secondary Education and the Division of Motor Vehicles. NIT is a nationally recognized NCCER training sponsor and offers a Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI) certified program. In addition to serving the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, NIT is authorized to conduct CDL testing and offer training programs throughout Alaska. NIT is member of the National Safety Council, Alaska Trucking Association, Associated Builders & Contractors, and Alaska General Contractors.
