Tumbleweed, Seven Houses, ONE Family 🖤🧡💚💙💜💛🐢

💜 Nukumori-Purple House, House of Kindness 💛 Sollevare-Yellow House, House of Uplifters 🐢 Ohana-Sky Blue House, House of Family

A family is forever! The bond is strong, the bond is unbreakable! The Tumbleweed House System bonds our current and former students, faculty, and staff together as a FAMILY! Our houses give each student belonging, identity, protection, acceptance, friendship, love, and courage! Our houses bond us as family! Within the family, we are ONE! House Sorting Day is a day that is absolutely unexplainable in words and has to be experienced to fully understand. Friday afternoon we welcomed our TK and Kindergarten students to their Ohana House and on Monday afternoon we welcomed all of our new 1st-5th grade students into their Houses and into the Tumbleweed House Family! The cheering was deafening as our entire school counted down from 10 and waited with anticipation as students tore open their envelopes to see what house had chosen them! As soon as they opened their super secret letter that revealed what House had chosen them and held it high in the air, a sense of belonging to something bigger, greater began to take over! The students were asked to join their house where existing house staff and student members were waiting to welcome them into their house within our great family. They were welcomed, swarmed with hugs, fist bumps, high fives, and yes loud screams and even tears! (it’s overwhelming, you have to experience it, remember) And then, immediately, no matter what your age and grade, boy or girl, you have an identity, you are loved, accepted, you belong, in the safety of our houses, we are bonded as ONE! We love sorting day and our Tumbleweed heart has been overwhelmed with happiness, joy, pride, and even tears, happy tears. Please enjoy the pictures below and feel free to share your child's story of Friday and Monday in the comments so we can all celebrate together! We hope these pictures give you a glimpse into what makes Tumbleweed Dual Immersion School and our House System so special! 🖤🧡💚💙💜💛🐢
