Holiday Peace diffuser recipes.

Emotions of the blend:
Douglas Fir opens the mind so you can see your possessions with a different perspective. Your self-worth/value is not attached to things. It invigorates your mind so you can see the bigger picture. In a way it helps you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Douglas Fir is called the oil of "generational wisdom". While White Fir helps us to release toxic generational patterns, Douglas helps us tap into the experience and knowledge offered. When we struggle to connect with our parents or grandparents, or to see eye-to-eye, diffusing this oil during your meditation practice can help you release the distance or blocks you might have between you and build deeper relationships. At the same time you can firm grounded and rooted in your own sense of self (because how often do we tend to lose ourselves and revert back to feeling like a 5 year old again when we're hanging around our family?).

Siberian Fir helps to break negative patterns, including codependent relationships, enabling and abusive relationships. May help those negative emotional and spiritual patterns are taught to us by our parents or grandparents.

Himalayan which is a cedarwood tree provides comfort to the soul that you are safe and protected. Helps you identify the supportive individuals in your circles who love you unconditionally. Helps you breathe deeper and calms anxieties. Cedarwood encourages you to reach out to your community and receive support of others.

Grapefruit reminds you to take care of yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. It is import to prioritize your self –care every single day. Grapefruit helps you appreciate who you are and what you are capable of.

Frankincense helps dispel confusion. Frankincense heightens feelings of peace and serenity. Frankincense brings to light all of your gifts and talents that are meant to shared with the world.

Vetiver allows you to become more rooted. This will dispel feelings of being “scattered” . Vetiver is a deeply grounding oil, often used to promote restful sleep, but equally helpful when you feel restless in life. It can help bring you back down to earth to find a comfortable footing in your own role and path. It can help you relax and sleep deeper. Vetiver essential oil may help a person who lacks motivation, struggles with apathy or a feeling of "why bother", or who feels disconnected by first allowing them to find that sense of deep and meaningful connection in their body and with the earth, a strong foundation to build the rest of life upon.

CAN I USE ESSENTIAL OILS TO HELP MY CHILD'S CONGESTION?

Yes, probably.

This is one area where I usually go for EOs over herbs because breathing something in is going to be beneficial. (There are also herbs I would use, which I'll detail below.)

The most common EOs used for congestion are rosemary, eucalyptus, and peppermint, which are NOT kid-safe.

Instead, try using rosalina, fir needle, and lemon. All of these are fine for kids 6 months+ in a diffuser, or 2 years+ topically.

Dilute in a roller bottle, 2 drops to 10 ml of carrier oil, and rub on the child's chest or around their ears (if clogged/bothering them).

As for herbs, try warm mullein tea with raw honey (safe for all ages who can drink tea, so from 9 - 10 months -- you can skip the honey before a year if you're worried).

Before bed, a spoonful of raw honey mixed with 1/8 tsp. each turmeric powder and cinnamon powder is a powerful anti-inflammatory that may also help clear congestion.

Of course, elderberry syrup or elixir is an old standby, and can be given 1 - 3x per day to help with sniffles.
