This week is National School Counseling Week, and we are proud to celebrate the important work of our School Counselors. This year’s theme, “School Counselors Amplify Student Success,” reflects the essential role counselors play in helping students reach their full potential.

School Counselors serve all students by supporting their academic growth, college and career readiness, and social-emotional well-being. Through this work, counselors help students explore their strengths, interests, and talents while building the skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

As an integral part of the educational process, School Counselors collaborate with families, teachers, and school staff to help students set meaningful goals, develop healthy mindsets, and navigate challenges. They also connect students and families to community resources that strengthen comprehensive support systems and expand opportunities for success.

The work of School Counselors directly supports Palm Springs Unified School District's Portrait of a Graduate, helping students develop critical skills such as self-awareness, perseverance, collaboration, responsible decision-making, and self-direction. Through their leadership and advocacy, School Counselors promote access, equity, and opportunity, contributing to a culture of success across our schools.

We’ve had a lot of questions about these signs, so let’s clear it up.

We have not endorsed Joey Acuña. CVTA does not endorse in anything but our local school board race. We are not sure which teachers have endorsed him, because we know CTA did not do so. If you’d like to know who the teachers are who endorsed him, we suggest contacting him to ask.
