This seems...problematic:

NEWSWORTHY NUMBER: 80%

Share of US employees who say their workplace is toxic, per Monster’s 2025 Mental Health in the Workplace study, up from 67% last year. An overwhelming majority — 93% — said they did not feel their employer was doing enough to support mental health, but those who did pointed to time off for doctor/therapy appointments and generous PTO policies.

So, what’s causing all this stress? Well, top causes of poor mental health included:
• Toxic work culture (59%)
• Bad managers (54%)
• Lack of growth opportunities (47%)
• Increased workload (47%)
• Staffing shortages (33%)
And, among respondents who rated their mental health as only poor or fair, 51% said getting rid of toxic employees would help.

While PTO won’t fix deep-seated toxicity, a vacation will certainly help. Take those days.
