We help provide your child with methods for reliable communication and support for their motor and sensory differences.

We specialize in educating students with motor and sensory differences and presume competence in every student. Whether it be Autism Spectrum Disorder, Apraxia, Dyspraxia, Down Syndrome or other motor challenges IATB knows that speech does not equal intelligence. We educate all of our students on or above grade level using a robust curriculum supported by our amazing faculty to help each child achieve their dreams.

Today, Invictus students had the opportunity to learn more about the meaning of Memorial Day from Dave Garringer, a Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Students heard about the importance of honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country, as well as the lasting impact military service and sacrifice can have across generations of a family. Dave also shared the perspective of a Gold Star family whose loved one did not return home from Vietnam.

Students spelled questions for him, and he answered from his heart.

Following the presentation, students created poppies as a Memorial Day craft and symbol of remembrance for the fallen.

We are grateful for opportunities to help students connect history, service, sacrifice, and remembrance in meaningful and personal ways.

Happy Earth Day from Invictus! πŸŒŽπŸ’š

Our students spent time refreshing our campus planters, emptying old soil, refilling them with fresh dirt, and planting beautiful flowers and herbs chosen to attract butterflies. There was a lot of pride in the work and even more joy in watching it come together.

We are also raising butterflies from caterpillars and look forward to releasing them right here into the space our students helped create. It’s been a special way to connect what we’re learning to something real and life-giving.

Along the way, students practiced important motor skills in a meaningful, hands-on way. Digging, scooping, pouring, and planting all support gross motor coordination, while grasping tools, placing plants, and completing our Earth Day crafts helped strengthen fine motor control.

We love creating opportunities where learning, purpose, and a little bit of beauty all come together!

This week, our Intro to Forensics students learned the four forensic search patterns and then put them into action during a β€œWhere’s Waldo” challenge. Students applied systematic search strategies, practiced attention to detail, and experienced how these methods support accuracy in real investigative work. It was a fun, engaging way to bring academic concepts to life, and the energy carried throughout the school!
