They might be contaminated with a chemical linked to cancer: Roundup W**d Killer.

Lab tests done in 2018 found the chemical glyphosate (main ingredient in Roundup) in some Quaker Chewy Bars. There was 625 ppb of glyphosate detected in Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars and 572 ppb in Chewy S'mores bars. Each sample found different amounts, so there’s no telling if the Chewy Bars you buy have glyphosate in them (but it’s a real possibility).

This is because Roundup is commonly sprayed on conventional crops like oats as a drying agent before harvest. This doesn’t all get washed away and that’s why you’ll still find it contaminating finished products on the shelf.

You don’t want w**d killer in your food, or your child’s food! You also don’t want snacks full of added refined sugars.
