🌸 A Night to Remember at Palm Harbor Toastmasters 🌸

Our meeting tonight was pure joy, a blend of celebration, heartfelt moments, and powerful speeches. We turned our theme into something truly special: an unofficial/official baby shower for sweet baby Juniper, and the room was glowing in pink thanks to all of you who showed up with love, gifts, and support for Lisbeth and her growing family.

Last week we had a fantastic humorous speech and evaluation contest with some great speeches and even more fun contestants. Before we celebrate the winners, let's acknowledge everyone that gave their all to make this contest work!

🌟 Palm Harbor Toastmasters — Contest Season Is Here! 🌟

Our Club Contest is more than an exciting event; it’s the first doorway to the international stage. This is where members take their very first step toward advancing through Area, Division, District… and ultimately competing with the best speakers in the world.

But a successful contest doesn’t happen alone, it takes a village.
Every role plays a vital part in creating a fair, professional, and inspiring experience:

Contest Chair – guides and supports all members in their contest roles.

Contest Master – hosts the entire event and leads the speaking program.

Timers – track every speech and provide official time stamps for contestants.

Sergeant at Arms – escorts contestants and ballot counters according to contest rules.

Ballot Counters – collect ballots from anonymous judges and ensure an accurate, fair count.

Chief Judge – oversees judges, verifies qualifications, and delivers final results to the Contest Master.

And Finally....

The Contestants – deliver their speeches for the very first chance to advance to higher‑level competitions.

🔥Our 8/6 meeting kicked off August with a bang!🔥
Following the previous weeks theme of Transition, we jumped head on into a fun night exploring progression and moving forward with the new theme of Momentum💨.
First we started meeting celebrating our own Matt Tuohy completing his toastmasters pathway, an effort that's been two years and many great speeches in the making.
Next we initiated and formally commended a whole 5 new members! Welcome again to the club guys, excited to see your progression.

Our 7/23 meeting had an exciting thrill to it as we had the theme of Everyday Heroes🦸‍♂️.
On this week we focused on celebrating the overlooked regular heroes of our life, from friends and family to our pets and strangers, our night appreciated the people in our life that are heroes to us. And in charge of the meeting, we were led by our lovely toastmaster of the night, our Sergeant-At-Arms, Mabel Segura.
