Join us for a complimentary Waldorf in the Woods class on Friday, May 30th! 🌿

Come experience the magic of outdoor Waldorf early childhood education alongside your little one through songs, storytelling, seasonal activities, imaginative play, movement, and nature exploration.

Mud kitchens. Bare feet. Tree climbing. Birdsong. Sticks becoming magic wands.

This is childhood slowed down to its natural rhythm.

Waldorf in the Woods offers young children the chance to develop creativity, confidence, sensory awareness, and connection through meaningful time outdoors — while caregivers experience the warmth and beauty of Waldorf education firsthand.

No screens.
No rush.
Just wonder, movement, and nature.

If you’ve been curious about Waldorf education or are longing for a gentler, more connected experience for your child, we would love to welcome you.

There is a certain kind of childhood many parents are quietly grieving.

Bare feet.
Muddy hands.
Unhurried mornings.

Imagination that comes from sticks instead of screens.

Waldorf in the Woods was created to give children something increasingly rare:
space to move,
create,
explore,
and belong in the natural world.

Each week our children:
🌿 explore local nature spaces
🌿 create seasonal crafts
🌿 hear stories and songs
🌿 build resilience, confidence, and connection through outdoor play

This is not enrichment added on top of childhood.
It *is* childhood.

Now enrolling for our June Waldorf in the Woods session.
5 Mondays in June
9:30 - 11:30am
Dunedin Park
$300

For children 1 - 3 years old and their caregiver.

👉🏻 Comment WONDER, and we’ll send you more information and the link to enroll.

Space is limited.

From seed… to soil… to hands… to table 🥕✨

There is something deeply joyful about growing your own food—but more than that, there is something formative.

Our Class 3 students have tended these carrots from the very beginning.

They prepared the soil, planted the seeds, watered, weeded, waited… and waited some more. They showed up in all kinds of weather. T
hey learned patience.
They learned care.
They learned that growth doesn’t happen on demand.

And then—this.

The quiet magic of pulling something from the earth that you helped bring to life.

This is the heart of the Waldorf curriculum in the third grade year:
meeting the world through doing.
Understanding life through work.
Building confidence through real, tangible experience.

Not just learning about food…
but forming a relationship with it.

Hands in the dirt.
Effort over time.
Joy in the harvest.

This is education you can taste.

There’s a special kind of wonder in pulling something from the earth that you once placed there with your own hands.

This week, our Mossy Oaks Kindergarten returned to the Forest Meadow to harvest the potatoes they planted months ago—small hands digging, searching, discovering… and then that moment of pure delight when the soil gives something back.

In Waldorf early childhood, these experiences are everything. The children don’t just learn about nature—they live in relationship with it. They plant, they tend, they wait, and they harvest. Through these simple, rhythmic acts, they begin to understand patience, care, and the quiet magic of growth.

And perhaps without even realizing it, they’re learning one of life’s deepest truths:
What we nurture, grows.

❤️ Thanks Ms. Eliza and Mr. Brian! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

There is something quietly powerful about a child shaping wood with their own hands.

In Second Grade, woodwork isn’t just a craft—it’s a meeting point of imagination, patience, and will. Each carve, each careful movement of the tool, asks the child to slow down, to focus, to persist. The owl doesn’t simply appear… it is revealed through effort, attention, and trust in the process.

This is how will is built—not through urgency or pressure, but through meaningful work. Through the resistance of the material. Through the small triumphs of “I can do this.”

And perhaps most beautifully, each owl carries the imprint of its maker—unique, imperfect, and full of life. 🦉

On February 28, our community gathered to celebrate something truly special — 35 years of Waldorf Education in Tampa Bay. ✨

Our Legacy Gala: WSTB at 35 was an evening filled with gratitude, laughter, art, and deep appreciation for the journey that has brought our school to this moment.

We came together to honor our beloved founder, Barbara Bedingfield, whose vision and dedication planted the seeds for what has grown into the vibrant community we know today. A beautiful short film sharing Barbara’s story reminded us just how much heart, courage, and perseverance it takes to build something that lasts.

The evening also featured our pièce de rÊsistance: our Waldorf Art Exhibition, showcasing nearly 50 works of art created by alumni, current students, teachers, and parents.

Walking through the gallery felt like stepping through the living biography of our school — creativity, courage, and imagination expressed across generations.

And of course… we celebrated.

Dressed in classic black and white, our community filled the gallery with joy, conversation, and connection. A highlight of the evening was the wonderful photo booth generously provided by one of our own parents at Gabrielle Events, capturing so many of the smiling faces you see here.

Most exciting of all, thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised over $50,000 to support:
• Sound equipment to support our events and programs
• The seeding of the Bedingfield Legacy Fund, the first step toward establishing our school’s endowment

This milestone reminds us that a school is never just buildings and classrooms. It is people, relationships, ideals, and shared purpose — carried forward year after year by those who believe in the work.

As we celebrate 35 years, we feel immense gratitude for Barbara’s vision, for the families and teachers who have shaped this school, and for the bright future ahead.

The next chapter of WSTB is already unfolding… and it looks beautiful.

Thirty-five years ago, a woman had a vision.

Not a strategic plan.
Not a marketing campaign.
A vision.

Barbara Bedingfield believed that children in Tampa Bay deserved an education rooted in wonder, reverence, rhythm, and soul.

And from that belief, a school was born.

✨ The Flame We Keep ✨

This short film honors the courage it takes to begin something that doesn’t yet exist — and the devotion it takes to sustain it across generations.

What you’ll see isn’t just a founding story.

It’s a reminder that institutions are built by human beings who say yes to something bigger than themselves.

The flame was lit decades ago.

And it’s still burning.

Take four minutes. Watch.
Remember why this work matters. ❤️
