This National Chef Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the chefs who do more than create memorable meals. They share their knowledge, inspire future culinary professionals, and help students discover where their passion can take them. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳❤️💛

Recently, College of the Desert Culinary Arts students traveled to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, as part of an international culinary and hospitality exchange with Universidad Tecnológica de San Miguel de Allende (UTSMA).

Through this experience, students had the opportunity to learn from chefs and hospitality professionals, build real-world skills, experience another culture, and broaden their perspectives on careers in the industry.

During National Chef Appreciation Week, we celebrate the chefs and culinary professionals who share their experience and expertise with the next generation and help prepare students for future success.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the courage of first responders, and recognize all those whose lives were forever changed by the events on that day. We also remember the extraordinary acts of bravery, compassion, and unity shown by people and communities across our nation in the days that followed.

The College of the Desert Foundation joins our community in honoring their memory and reflecting on a day we will never forget.

We’re excited to welcome our newest cohort of long-term international students to College of the Desert. Students from France, Sweden, Vietnam, the Netherlands, Finland, Canada, China, Germany, Japan and more, are beginning their COD journey, bringing with them new perspectives, cultures, and experiences to our campus community.

A special thank-you to our amazing local students who volunteered their time to help welcome and support these international students during orientation. Your kindness and hospitality made their first steps at COD even more meaningful.
