Due to the impending threat of Hurricane Idalia, and with the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families as our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the center for Wednesday, August 30th, 2023. This decision has taken into consideration the information provided by the Flagler County Emergency Management and the potential impact on our area from late Tuesday night and throughout the day on Wednesday.
- Tropical Storm Force Winds, potentially upwards of 57 mph, with gust up to 73 mph
- Possibility of Tornados
- Possibility of Power Outages
We understand that this closure may disrupt your plans and routines, but we believe that it is essential to ensure the safety of everyone involved. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated about any changes. We anticipate re-opening on Thursday, August 31st, 2023, for normal business hours.

Attention Sunshine Academy Families,

As you may be aware, Hurricane Ian is projected to impact most of Florida, inclusive of Flagler County as early as the evening of Tuesday 09/27/2022.

As a precautionary measure, based upon guidance from the Flagler County Emergency Operations team, Sunshine Academy will be closed Wednesday, 09/28/2022 through Friday, 09/30/2022. We will reopen on Monday, October 3rd 2022.

We encourage you to prepare and stay up to date with all local news and updates regarding Hurricane Ian. We hope all of our Families stay safe during and after the storm.

You would have a Morning and Afternoon Route. School Days Work Schedule. Candidates must be at least 25 years of age, will need a valid FL Commercial Driver's License and 3 years driving experience. All drivers must be able to pass a Level II background check.

Flagler County K-5 families, who have selected Option #2: Virtual or Option #3 Remote Learning.
Sunshine Academy is considering offering Distance Learning Assistance for School Age Children. At Sunshine Academy, we will provide a safe and nurturing environment, internet access, assistance for students engaged in virtual classes, stimulating outdoor play area, and daily meals.
At Sunshine Academy
• 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Children are not mixed with different classrooms
• Parent have limited access, drop off and pick up is at main lobby
• We practice increased Hand washing, Cleaning, Sanitation and Disinfection
• Daily Screening of Children and Staff
