This is Courtney Lewis, Music Director of the Jacksonville Symphony. Maestro Lewis is one the reasons the JSO is one of the great orchestras of our country. The JSO has always been an important part of concert season will be again this year. You can see them twice this season, on February 25 (Spielberg/Williams) and March 21 (Brahms, Tchaikovsky). Today is World Letter Writing Day, a reminder of how powerful the simple act of putting pen to paper can be—especially in moments that change our lives forever.
If you’ve ever visited the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas, you know it is filled with incredible rock 'n' roll history: his iconic Fender Stratocaster, custom stage wear, and famous horn-rimmed glasses. But some of the most moving pieces in the museum are the handwritten letters. Buddy’s mother wrote about how kind and humble her son was not about his stardom. ✨
