🦈 Hidden Oaks Middle School Has Something for Everyone! 🦈

At Hidden Oaks Middle School, we believe every student should have the opportunity to explore their interests, discover new passions, and build lasting connections. We are proud to offer a wide variety of clubs and activities that provide opportunities for leadership, creativity, service, academics, athletics, and so much more!

📅 As of August 24, the following clubs and activities will be available at HOMS!

Whether your Shark is interested in robotics, the arts, academic competition, community service, student leadership, or simply trying something new, there is a place for them to get involved and thrive.

⭐ Joining a club is a great way to:

✅ Develop leadership skills
✅ Explore interests and talents
✅ Build school spirit and connection
✅ Create memorable middle school experiences

Please note that additional information regarding club start dates, meeting times, and locations will be shared soon. For now, take a look at the incredible opportunities available to our students and start thinking about which clubs might be the perfect fit!

⚠️ PARENT SAFETY ALERT: SQUISHY TOYS ⚠️

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning families about fake and counterfeit squishy toys that may pose safety risks to children.

As a precaution, the Martin County School District will not provide squishy toys as classroom incentives, PBIS rewards or sensory items.

We are excited to welcome families to Curriculum Night on Thursday, August 27th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM!

This is a wonderful opportunity to walk your student’s schedule, meet their teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and gain insight into the exciting learning experiences planned for this school year.

✅ Important Reminder: Please print your student’s schedule and bring it with you. Our outstanding NJHS members will be stationed around campus to help families locate classrooms.

📍 5:00 - 5:25 PM Visit the Cafeteria to learn more about our Clubs, Sports Teams, and PTSA!

📍 Classroom Rotations Begin at 5:30 PM. Families will follow their student's schedule and experience each class period throughout the evening.

Callers attempting to reach a District school or department may occasionally be routed to a different location.

Calls are being received; however, if you reach a site other than the one you intended to contact, please press 0 to reach the front office and request a transfer to the correct school or department.

While we work with our service provider to resolve the issue, families and community members may also use the staff directory on their school's website to contact employees or departments via email, or submit an inquiry through Onflo.

🦈🔬 Science in Action at Hidden Oaks! 🔬🦈

Today, Ms. McNeill and Mrs. Dubois took their young scientists on an exciting adventure through two engaging labs: the "Mystery Lab Box" and the "Dumpling Lab!"

Students dove into the scientific process by using both qualitative and quantitative observations as they worked collaboratively through their investigations. From making careful observations to collecting data and drawing conclusions, these scientists were fully immersed in authentic, hands-on learning.

Both classrooms were buzzing with energy as students remained engaged, excited, and actively involved in uncovering answers and making discoveries alongside their peers. It was incredible to see critical thinking, teamwork, and curiosity on full display!

At Hidden Oaks Middle School, learning goes beyond the textbook as our students explore, investigate, and discover the world around them every day.

🦈 The Shark Community Shows Up! 🦈

Yesterday, we held our first GGM PTSA meeting of the school year, and we could not be more proud of the incredible turnout from our Shark community!

A great school is never built in isolation. It is built through strong partnerships, open communication, and the collective perspectives of families, staff, and community members working together to create the very best learning environment for our scholars. When we come together with a shared commitment to student success, amazing things happen.

A special thank you and congratulations to our PTSA President, Mrs. Walker, for her leadership, dedication, and hard work in bringing families together and helping strengthen the connection between home and school.

Thank you to everyone who attended and invested their time in helping make Hidden Oaks Middle School an even better place for our students. The energy, engagement, and support on display yesterday are just another reminder that there is something truly special about our Shark family!

Mrs. Chace’s science students are diving right into academics as we begin the school year!

Students worked collaboratively to identify specific ways science applies to the real world, engaging in meaningful discussions and hands-on learning with their classmates.

It was fantastic to see every group actively participating, following classroom expectations, and working together to create thoughtful final products that are now proudly displayed in the hallway for all to see!

Student engagement, collaboration, small-group learning, and active participation are what it’s all about in the Shark Tank. We love seeing our students thinking critically, making connections, and taking ownership of their learning from day one!

Great job, Mrs. Chace and Shark scholars! 🦈💙
