Deadline is fast approaching! If you are a pianist currently junior or senior in high school, this is an amazing opportunity. Send in your materials by January 17th, 2022.

The PBA College of the Arts Young Artists Piano Competition is open to pianists enrolled in 11th or 12th grade as of February 26, 2022. Pianists selected for the final round, held on February 26, 2022 at PBA, will be announced on January 28, 2022.

All applicants must submit the following by January 17, 2022: Biography (500 word maximum), proof of eligibility, YouTube links to two contrasting works, headshot and repertoire to be performed in the competition - three contrasting works of your choice form the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods.

Tomorrow I will embark upon a new adventure in my musical career; my collaborative exhibit “Abstract Interpretations” will open at the Whitespace Gallery in West Palm Beach. Artist Roseanne Williams commissioned me to compose several pieces to complement her artwork.
My initial task was to write 3 pieces, however my inspiration quickly propelled me towards 8. This process has not been easy but it has been so rewarding to me in so many ways. I never imagined myself writing or composing. Roseanne made it easy, “Write what the paintings inspire you to create—there are no rules.”

Creating new pieces that are my own with inspiration from Roseanne’s artwork was so freeing. These pieces are not studies or technical challenges—they are heartfelt reflections from one artist to another. I’ve spent many hours at the piano creating what I call my “Audible Reflections,” and I hope you will come join us!
