Montessori Village Green Preschool & VPK is an early childhood learning center serving 3-5 year old children. Each child is treated with respect and kindness.

Montessori Village Green offers a Montessori Pre-Kindergarten and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program for children ages 3-5. Students enrolled in the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program will have the option to articulate into Odyssey Charter School’s or Odyssey Preparatory Academy's Kindergarten program. Families who are interested in enrolling in the Montessori Village Green Preschool may fill out

pre-registration forms. Registration forms will be available at the Odyssey Charter School's and Odyssey Preparatory Academy's front offices beginning in January. Our classrooms offer a prepared environment, multi-age groupings, independent learning, hands-on discovery-based learning, and a warm and comfortable positive learning environment. Our Montessori preschool is committed to the whole child using the Montessori educational philosophy. Montessori teaches the children values of self-respect, appreciation of uniqueness and the recognition of dignity within each person. Our teachers give lessons on treating everyone with kindness, peacefulness, compassion, empathy, personal responsibility and courage. Learning is on an individual basis as each child progresses at his or her own pace. A child that learns and masters a skill quickly will move on to the next level while a child that needs more time to master a skill will be able to do so without feeling pressured. All lessons are sequenced moving from concrete to abstract. Practical Life:

This area is usually the first area the younger child is introduced to in the classroom. Unlike many traditional programs where young children may be unable to sit and follow through with a lesson, our prepared Montessori environment quickly engages the child. Practical Life lessons are important as they teach care of the classroom environment, concentration building, and completion of a lesson. The children build hand strength and control, hand-eye coordination, a sense of order and feelings of accomplishment. Sensorial Materials:

The sensorial materials teach heightened perception, focused observations and fine discrimination and classification. These skills play a major role in helping our children to develop their sense of logic, concentration, coordination, order and independence. Language Exercises:

Language skills are a very important part of a child's life. Without the skills to communicate, a child would be frustrated by the inability to express himself/herself. The language area consists of developing oral language, writing, reading and creative expression. Our goal is to give the child a love of reading and the skill to express himself. Math Exercises:

Montessori materials are designed with precision so that the child learns multiple concepts with hands-on activities. Each new math concept is isolated and presented in a way that gradually moves the child from the concrete to the abstract. A child will master one math skill before moving on to the next lesson.

Montessori Village Green marked the end of the school year with a Rising Stars Ceremony, honoring our VPK students and providing a wonderful experience for everyone. Congratulations to the families and gratitude.

Dear Odyssey Families,

Every so often, a moment arises that reminds us of the extraordinary strength and compassion within our Odyssey family. Today, I am reaching out to share one of those moments—and to invite our community to come together in support of two of our own.

Some of you may know Kayla Young, a dedicated instructional assistant at Odyssey Preparatory Academy, a loving mother of two, and a cherished member of our school family. After the loss of her husband, Steve, in 2022, Kayla has continued to show remarkable resilience. She is now facing a new life challenge: the need for a kidney transplant.

In an incredible act of selflessness, another member of our Odyssey family—Kayla Senick, a social worker at Odyssey Charter Elementary School, mother of four, and foster mom to two—stepped forward without hesitation. After testing, she learned she is a match and has chosen to donate her kidney to Kayla Young. Their surgery is scheduled for June 24.

This story is more than a medical event. It is a testament to compassion, courage, and the power of community. As both Kaylas prepare for the journey ahead, we are rallying around them to ensure they feel supported every step of the way.

Last evening at the Annual Founder’s Awards Ceremony, Odyssey Founder Ms. Constance Ortiz, the Odyssey Board of Directors, school administrators, and members of the Odyssey community proudly recognized Alia Hartwick as the 2026 OCS, Inc. Founder’s Award Administrator of the Year.

As Montessori Village Green and Enrichment Director, Alia has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and commitment to academic excellence over the past five years. Her innovative ideas and collaborative leadership style have strengthened early childhood programs and enriched the educational experience for students and families.

Alia embodies the values of collaboration, respect, responsibility, and empathy, making her truly deserving of this honor.
