Thank you to all the parents and families who attended our Open House! Principal DeLaughter and our staff gave you a snapshot of what your kids see and experience daily. Hopefully you left with a clearer understanding of what’s expected at Southwest. The goal was to make sure you at the very least know how to connect with your student’s teachers, what a “Week on a Sheet” is and our concept of Unit Folders.

Earlier this week we shared about the Sales Surtax.

The second measure on November's ballot is the 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 — a property tax renewal that funds the teachers, programs, and technology that make learning happen every day in Brevard County classrooms.

Millage is the small portion of property taxes that stays right here in Brevard County, locally approved by voters to directly support Brevard Public Schools. Every dollar collected goes to the people and programs inside our schools.

Millage funds three things: 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐲, 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲.
