The PBE leadership team had a wonderful opportunity to attend ASCEND 2026, Brevard Public Schools' annual leadership conference. Over the past two days, we connected with colleagues across the district, gained valuable insights, and returned inspired and energized for the upcoming school year. Our Li'l Pirates enjoyed kicking off summer throughout this week! Thanks to Thrifty Specialty Produce and Meats, all of our students (and teachers!) enjoyed a juicy, delicious watermelon treat! PBE 4th Quarter Success Celebrations were held for students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Awards were given for success with High Academics, Perfect Attendance and Good Character. Our Li'l Pirates enjoyed a visit from our friends at Palm Bay Police Department. Officers stopped by in the PBPD Frosty 5-0 van and passed out popsicles. PBE's sixth grade Li'l Pirates celebrated with the help of Eckerd Connects. Each student enjoyed a Kona Ice treat while visiting with their classmates and teachers. Josh the Otter paid a visit to our Kindergarten Li'l Pirates! Members of the Palm Bay Rotary Club talked to our kids about water safety. Each child received a copy of the book starring Josh the Otter. And of course, Josh was giving out great big hugs as well. Congratulations to the 4th, 5th, 6th grade students in Mrs.Miller's class who participated in the Public Speaking Contest. These students worked hard to research, write, edit and prepare speeches on a wide range of subjects (scams, AI, sports, healthy habits, advertising, marine biology). Each student bravely shared their speech with the judging panel and an audience full of peers and parents. PBE thanks our Speech Contest judges for their time- Shannon Young from Kona Ice, Damilka Bisbal-Liciaga from PBE's ESE Department and Rich Miller from Miller & Hurt Wealth Advisors. Congratulations to all students who had the courage to stand at the podium and share their writing and speaking skills, and a special congrats to our 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners from each grade level.
