Notre Dame Academy Notre Dame Academy in Palisades Park, New Jersey provides Catholic education for PreK3-8th graders They model Christian values through their words and actions.

Notre Dame is dedicated to impart the ideals of the Catholic faith to the children of our school community. Our aim is to provide each child with the opportunity to grow and develop to his or her fullest potential in a Christ-centered environment. Each child is challenged to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. This education experience prepares our students to

identify and face the challenges of tomorrow with courage. Sound education theory and methods are used to facilitate our children's learning experience. The staff is involved in a continuing effort to improve professional skills. Family involvement is encouraged within the Notre Dame community. A strong partnership is created through a positive, respectful, and welcoming atmosphere. By working together, in the light of Christian values and principles, we continue to enhance our program for the benefit of all children.

Father Stephen Fichter’s homily inspired all of our universal calling to become a saint. He reminded us “A saint is a sinner that keeps on going.” He shared the importance of keeping our souls clear minded through the sacrament of reconciliation. That the end of summer is a great time to go. Saint Paul reminds us not to get distracted from what matters most. Live your faith through kindness, justice, and tremendous care for the poor. This mass was celebrated with all educational leaders of the Newark Archdiocese.

Today’s Gospel reminds us that Peter was called to be the rock: strong in faith, grounded in Christ, and entrusted to build up the Church.

A surprise this morning during the Sign of Peace! Mrs. Sender was sitting a few rows back. I learned that she was married at Saint Anthony’s Church. We also both had our children’s baptisms here. What a beautiful connection!

May we all be rocks for one another: building up our faith, our parishes, and our NDA school community.

You never know who you’re going to see at Mass!

Today, Principal George had the joy of celebrating Mass at St. Michael’s Church and was delighted to see a familiar face, our wonderful school bursar, Mrs. Ahn! 💙

Today’s Mass offered so many beautiful reminders for our Notre Dame Academy community:

✨ Church is for all people. We are all welcome here.
✨ Do not give up when God seems silent.
✨ Do not confuse God’s silence with His process.
✨ One touch (one crumb) of God’s mercy can change a life.
✨ Have faith to keep going.
✨ Keep trusting. Keep praying.
