In elementary ag, our unit for September was farm equipment and machinery. As a fun end to our unit we got to check out some different types of equipment right at school!

Huge thanks to Tom & Matt Benoit, Tim & Bryn Benoit, Reif Welding, Geoff and Gregg Whisman, Jay Frakes, Rhett Post, and Mr. Hamel for bringing equipment and taking the time to talk to our kids! Thank you to my FFA members for being such great group leaders as well!

Yesterday, we got to go to Stockton for the Farm Bureau Ag Day! Our kindergarten through 5th grade students were able to attend and they learned about various agricultural topics. Some of our Palco FFA members helped run the germination station and the poultry station.

Big thanks to Jess Beesley with Farm Bureau, Rachael Brooke with Phillips-Rooks County Extension, Toni Bristow, Plainville FFA, and Stockton FFA for making this happen!

Our 3rd-5th graders got to see a real drone today in ag class! Such a fun opportunity for these kids to see this technology that is quickly gaining popularity in the agriculture sector.

Huge thanks to Ethan Hamel for taking the time to bring his drone out to show the kids and answer all their questions!

Today, our K-2 kiddos made mini pizzas in ag! Our September unit is about farm equipment and we learned about how combines harvest the wheat that goes into pizza crust. 🌾🍕

Big thanks to my big kids for coming to help out! My helpers were Marie Saindon, Lynden Saindon, Greighlyn Byers, Landon Johnston, and Bryer Simoneau.

Today we traveled to Colby for dairy cattle judging. We had 4 Greenhands and 4 seniors and they all placed 6 classes of cattle. Greenhands gave one set of reasons, while seniors gave two sets.

Sophia Bingham placed 1st in the Greenhand division and Marie Saindon placed 2nd in the Senior division!

We’re so proud of all of these kids for showing up today and competing! 🐄
