Children's Reading Center Charter School The Children’s Reading Center Charter School (CRCCS) is a public charter school located in Palatka CRCCS is a small school with a BIG personality.

CRCCS has been consistently providing an exceptional school of choice for the students of Putnam County. We believe that reading is the foundation of a well-balanced education. Through skill-specific reading lessons based in science or social studies content, we are able to work with students of all reading levels to promote academic growth as well as real-world connections to increase understandi

ng of the world we live in. Even though we are a ‘reading center,’ the education of students in all subject areas is our ultimate goal. Each day, students receive instruction in reading, math, writing, spelling, science, and social studies. CRCCS also continues to provide daily specials classes for students. Music, Art, P.E., Computer Lab and Science Lab are offered for all grade levels and Spanish is offered to first and second grades. In music, art, computer lab, and Spanish, students are introduced to the basic concepts of each of these subject areas. In Science Lab, students have the opportunity to carry out scientific explorations. Students in K-5 use S.T.E.A.M.- based activities weekly to investigate their world and are encouraged to explore and learn from their environments. At CRCCS, our teachers and staff work diligently to provide the best possible education for our students. We use the state standards to guide our curriculum, not a textbook! Therefore, teachers have the ability to personalize each class’s educational experience to focus on what students need in order to improve. Even in the midst of the COVID pandemic, we are finding ways to provide personalized education in the form of socially distanced small groups. Our devoted paraprofessionals help to provide specialized learning opportunities for our students by leading some of these small groups and providing one-on-one intervention for students on a regular basis. Our teachers are highly dedicated not only to their students, but to the betterment of themselves within their profession. All classrooms are led by certified teachers, with 9 of our classroom teachers holding master’s degrees! Teachers use this knowledge to provide rigorous whole group instruction in addition to skill-building small group instruction for every student. Each grade level has only two classes, giving all teachers and staff the opportunity to get to know our students better. Each day, we look forward to greeting every student by name and getting to know what makes each child special and unique. Our small staff works together to provide a ‘home away from home’ for our students and a trusted partner to our parents.

Free to a good home!
This desk has seen some things. Emails, snacks, existential crises, and it has held more paperwork than the IRS during tax season.
It’s big, sturdy, and ready for its next life with someone who might also have a questionable amount of paperwork. It’s got plenty of room for all your important stuff… and your completely unnecessary piles.
Who’s ready to give this hardworking desk a new home? Must have a way to get it there, it’s not exactly fitting in the backseat!
