Our 4th graders are taking science beyond the textbook as they investigate how force and mass affect a rocket’s acceleration and distance.

Using F = ma, students are conducting experiments, analyzing their results and engineering new iterations of their rockets based on what they discover. They’re also extending their learning beyond the classroom by exploring how Newton’s Second Law affects astronauts aboard the International Space Station. 🌎🚀

Through hands-on experimentation, engineering and real-world problem-solving, our students are not just learning what Newton’s Second Law is. They’re investigating why it works, testing their ideas and using evidence to improve their designs.

That’s gifted learning in action!

A huge thank you to all of our Quest families who came out to celebrate at Pumpkin Fest, sponsored by our Parent School Association (PSA)! We had a blast kicking off the Halloween season with sweet treats, games, bouncy fun, and plenty of fall festivities on a perfect autumn day. 🧡

And a HUGE shoutout to everyone who participated in our annual Family Costume Contest! We loved seeing all the creativity and family spirit on display.

🍎 Our Preschoolers Put Their Thinking Caps on in the Kitchen!

Our Preschool "Penguins" class transformed into little sous chefs as they made homemade applesauce! But this wasn’t just a cooking activity. It was a hands-on opportunity to explore, problem-solve, practice new skills, and engage all five senses.

After reviewing the recipe and gathering their ingredients, our young chefs got to work. They practiced hand-eye coordination, safety, and fine-motor skills as they carefully chopped apple slices. They also measured and added water, cinnamon, and sugar, building early math and sequencing skills along the way.

As the apples cooked, the classroom filled with the delicious aroma of cinnamon and apples. Then, after lunch, our Penguins put their sense of taste to work and enjoyed the delicious results of their efforts!

At Quest, meaningful learning happens when students can wonder, experiment, create, and make connections with the world around them. 🍎🐧💡

🎨 Quest Students Featured in Chicago Art Exhibition

We’re proud to have been invited to participate in “Who’s Influencing Whom? A Creative Continuum Between Teachers and Students,” a collaborative exhibition presented by the Chicago Academy for the Arts and the Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools (LMAIS).

Quest students in 4th–8th grade explored the theme of relationships through word art and created individual butterflies that come together as part of a collaborative mural. Every 4th–8th grade Quest student is represented in the installation, showcasing the creativity and perspectives of our students.

The exhibition also features mixed-media work by Quest Academy's Grades 4-8 Art Teacher, Ms. Hether Hoffmann, and a painting by a former Quest student who now attends the Chicago Academy for the Arts.

🌲 5th Grade Takes on Camp Tecumseh! 🌲

Our 5th graders spent a portion of this week at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana, stepping outside their comfort zones and diving into an unforgettable week of adventure, teamwork, and learning.

They worked together on hands-on challenges and tried new activities, navigating the outdoors, and encouraged one another along the way. These outdoor education opportunities provide our students with opportunities to build confidence, independence, problem-solving skills, and friendships.

Most importantly, they experienced what happens when you try something new, work together, and discover that you’re capable of more than you thought.

We’re so proud of the courage, curiosity, and teamwork our 5th graders brought to camp and we’re pretty sure they came home with some stories they’ll be telling for years to come! 🌲🔥🏕️

This past Friday, Quest Academy welcomed families, friends, faculty, and administration for our annual "Storytelling & Folk Dance Night," this year exploring the theme “Introductions & First Meetings.”

Through storytelling and folk dances representing cultures from around the world, the evening offered an opportunity to experience the traditions, perspectives, and histories that shape communities across the globe.

A longstanding Quest tradition, Storytelling & Folk Dance Night is one of the many ways we celebrate curiosity, cultural understanding, and the richness of our school community.

Quest Academy 3rd grader, Emily W., captured 2nd place in the Girls 8 & Under division at the “Little Mo” North Region Tennis Tournament, competing against top junior players from six states (FL, NY, NJ, MI, IL and MD).

Her impressive performance earned her a runner-up trophy and qualified her for Little Mo Nationals in Austin, Texas! 🎾

The prestigious “Little Mo” circuit, organized by the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation (MCB), is widely considered to be the premier proving ground in youth tennis. This tournament launched legendary careers, including Andy Roddick, Taylor Fritz, and Coco Gauff, who won the same division at age eight.

Emily’s achievement is a wonderful example of the focus, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence our Quest students demonstrate both inside and outside the classroom.

Congratulations, Emily! We’re cheering you on at Nationals! ❤️🎾

Our Middle School students spent part of this past week at Camp MacLean in Burlington, WI, building confidence, strengthening teamwork, and creating connections that will carry with them throughout the school year! 🌲

Students participated in low and high ropes courses, canoeing, zip lining, slacklining, and archery to rock climbing at Devil’s Lake, fire building, leather embossing, and creating skits together. Our 6th–8th graders challenged themselves in new ways while learning to rely on and support one another.

These shared experiences help our Middle School students become a stronger, more connected community, building the confidence, trust, and teamwork that make the Quest experience so special.

A special thank you to our faculty members who joined our students at Camp MacLean and supported, encouraged, and cheered them on throughout the week. We’re grateful for the time and energy they devoted to making this experience so meaningful for our students!

⛳ A fantastic finish at State!

Congratulations to 7th grader Kinsley T., who placed 16th at the IESA State Golf Tournament in Peoria yesterday! 🏌️‍♀️

Kinsley competed against 85 other golfers, finishing in the top 20% of the field.

We are so proud of Kinsley and all of her hard work and dedication! Congratulations, Kinsley! 🎉👏

🎉 A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO SHRIKARI P! 🎉

We are thrilled to celebrate 8th Grader, Shrikari P., who has been named a 2026 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (JIC) Finalist, placing her among the Top 30 middle school students nationwide!

Selected from approximately 60,000 students across the country, Shrikari’s achievement is a remarkable recognition of her curiosity, perseverance, passion for science, and dedication to using scientific research to explore real-world challenges.

This is also a historic achievement for Quest Academy. Shrikari is only the second Quest student ever to advance this far in the Junior Innovators Challenge, an extraordinary accomplishment.

Shrikari’s parents expressed their sincere gratitude to her Science Teacher, Mr. Nate Stoffregen, for the guidance, encouragement, and support he has provided along the way.

As a finalist, Shrikari will travel to Washington, D.C., this October, where she will present her research, connect with fellow young innovators from across the country, and compete for more than $100,000 in cash awards.

And Shrikari’s accomplishment will benefit the entire Quest community! As part of the program, Thermo Fisher Scientific will award Quest Academy $1,000 to support STEM activities, along with a year-long subscription to a science journal.

We are incredibly proud of Shrikari and can't wait to cheer her on as she represents Quest Academy on the national stage! 🔬✨
