JCHS Student Jonathan Grass gave his 2025 State Champion Speech during the Kentucky State Fair in front of a full crowd. Jonathan’s speech was titled “Thriving with Tourette’s”. Jonathan is a member of the JCHS Speech Team.

Hi, Friends
The JCHS Speech and Debate Team (the only one in our area) is hosting our Annual Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 11 at the school. We are partnering with Hazard High School to offer a Middle School AND High School Tournament so we need your help! Would you please consider volunteering your time on Saturday, January 11 as a Judge? We will train you how! A caring heart for our students is the important thing!!! So excited to get this competition year started!! We had our organizational meeting for the 2024-2025 JCHS Speech Team tonight!! This is gonna be an awesome year!! So much talent!!

We are also looking for community sponsors for this year! If you’re interested, PLEASE contact me or one of the team members!

Hi, Friends!

The JCHS Speech Team will be hosting an invitational speech tournament next weekend. We need your help to make this event special to the young people who will be attending. Would you please consider being a volunteer judge for the event? We’ll feed you and give you all the coffee and water you can drink! Oh, and we will make sure you get trained in the events! Please let me know by Monday if you’re available!! Thanks in advance!! Remember: these are the future leaders of EKY and we want to help them thrive!

So Proud of the JCHS Speech Team! We only had five members attend this weekend’s tournament at Bowling Green HS and came away with 6th Place Overall!

Placing:
Jessee Blair, 4th in Prose & 6th in Poetry
Adara Campbell, 3rd in Dramatic Interp & 7th in Prose
Ben Moore, 5th in Extemp
Loralei Arms, Superior in Broadcasting
Noah Ratliff, Superior in Broadcasting

These awesome speakers will be in competition again this upcoming weekend at Trinity HS!

The JCHS Speech Team needs your help! We are hosting our Annual Elementary and Middle School Speech Tournament on Saturday, January 28 at JCHS and we need your help!
