Students in Mrs. Collins' science classes participated in the Cell City Organelle Job Fair! They applied for an organelle job then conducted interviews with one another using a mix-pair-share technique explaining why their job is important and what would happen to the cell without it.

Taking statistics off the page and into the sunshine! ☀️📊
Our Math 7A classes stepped outside to become human data points in a hands-on math lab. Students lined up on a giant number line to create a human dot plot, bringing key concepts to life as they analyzed shape, center, and variability firsthand. By physically standing inside the graph, they could easily spot where data clustered and see the overall spread in real time.
The highlight of the lesson was creating two separate dot plots to compare data side-by-side between 7 Black and 7 Gold. It was a fantastic day of active, interactive learning for our 7th graders! 👏

📣 MATH BRAG POST! 📣

Today, our mathematicians put i-Ready + Kagan together to take their learning to the next level! 🧠✨

Students used i-Ready to practice classifying rational numbers and identifying the difference between terminating and repeating decimals. Then, we took the learning off the screen and into conversation with Mix-Pair-Share!

The best part? Students weren't just finding answers—they were explaining, defending, questioning, and building mathematical understanding together. That's what learning looks like!

Way to go 8th Grade! 💛

Mrs. Patrick’s class kicked off the school year with a colorful, delicious hands-on math investigation!
Students dug into bags of Froot Loops to collect data on cereal colors, transforming a favorite morning snack into a high-energy review of key math concepts. After sorting and counting their loops, students put their skills to work converting their raw data between fractions, decimals, and percentages. To wrap up the project, everyone created custom bar graphs and circle graphs to showcase their findings visually.
It was a fantastic—and tasty—way to build confidence, sharpen graphing skills, and dive right into a fun year of learning!

Today, Mrs. Patricks's Math7A classroom was buzzing with energy as we used two of our favorite Kagan Cooperative Learning structures—Quiz-Quiz-Trade and Numbered Heads Together—to review line graphs, bar graphs, pictographs, and circle graphs! Students teamed up, quizzed each other, and coached their group members on how to interpret data and choose the right graph for any job. It was amazing seeing everyone encourage one another and show off their teamwork. Enjoy your weekend, rest up, and get excited to rock your graph test on Monday! 📊✨
