Safety First

At Auburn Career Center, safety always comes first. Today, students across several of our programs were diving into the most important part of their career education: learning how to work safely and responsibly.

Before students operate equipment or begin hands-on training, they need to understand the expectations, procedures, and responsibility that come with working in a career field.

These lessons may not always be the most exciting but they are the foundation for everything that follows.

👀 Hands-On Learning in Action! 🩺

Our second-year Medical Assistant students are getting ready to put their skills into practice as they prepare to provide vision and hearing screenings for students in grades K–12 at our associate schools!

This is an incredible opportunity for our students to gain real-world experience while working directly with children and applying what they’ve learned in the classroom. ❤️🖤

Did you know there are different types of eye charts that can be used depending on a student’s grade level and individual needs? One example is the Falling E Chart, which uses the letter “E” in different directions and is especially helpful for younger students or individuals who may not yet be able to read letters.

This is career preparation you can see in action! Our students aren’t just learning about healthcare—they’re gaining the hands-on experience and confidence they’ll need for their future careers. 🎓🩺
