My dream remembered what I couldn’t. And I deliberately accessed that memory through lucid dreaming.

They say lucid dreams can help you problem-solve. Like what kind of problems? Can it help you locate a valuable item you lost in real life?

I’m 3 for 3 at my attempts at this now...

I lose something, I set a goal to have a lucid dream show me where it is, and voila! my dreams show me, and I find it in waking life. I’m no psychic, so what the heck 🤔

This instance happened this morning, a few days after I couldn’t find it. I set my mind to locate it in a lucid dream. Is lucidity needed to do this, or can you just incubate a nonlucid dream about it? I believe both may be true, but the intention to see it in dreams probably is the key.

It started nonlucid, showing me where the item was. When I saw it I knew it was the dream I intended to have, and this was my dream reminding me where it was. I knew then, “Oh yea!! Now I remember where I put it!” I woke up right after, found it, and just had to record this video!!!

I’m always blown away that dreams seem to be able to unlock access to memories that are inaccessible from waking states.

Next time you can’t find something important to you, set intention to find in a lucid dream.

Want to hear the story where I lot my wallet 🪪 and found where it was through my lucid dream? it was an even more incredible recovery than this story.

You can WILD, you just don’t know it yet. Let me tell you how to know you’d be good at it…🌀This photo is from a retreat I co-facilitated with Andrew Holecek and Stephen LaBerge at Shambhala Mountain Center. The room was a mix of longtime meditators and lucid dream yoga enthusiasts. Here I’m presenting on how to induce Wake-Initiated Lucid Dreams before guiding the group into a hypnotic trance.
🌀
Meditation already gives you an edge with lucid dreaming. But it especially sets you up to have WILDs, wake initiated lucid dreams, because the whole thing comes down to staying conscious of your state through the wake to REM sleep transition.
🌀
They’re not as hard as people think.
🌀
WILDs were actually my backdoor into lucid dreaming. I had so many more lucid dreams once I started attempting them regularly, and even on the attempts I lost lucidity as I fell asleep, I was more likely to get lucid in the dream right after.
🌀
You might be able to learn this easily if you…
- notice hypnagogic imageryďż˝
- get sleep paralysis
- fall asleep easily while meditatingďż˝
🌀
All of this is learnable btw!ďż˝
🌀
If you want to take your lucid dream practice more seriously, come by my Lucid Dreaming Practice group and I’ll help you out! 🌀
