There’s something wild about your kids getting old enough to unlock the mom lore and realize their mother did, in fact, have an entire freaking life before them.

I bought my son a BMX bike today… and when we got to the skatepark, he asked if I wanted to try it.

And s**t… that did something to me.

Teenage Kayla was UNHINGED. Not reckless with herself. Just completely unavailable for a life that didn’t feel like hers.

She did what filled her up. She followed what felt alive.
She didn’t need anyone else to understand why she wanted what she wanted.

She just KNEW.

Here’s the part they missed. We didn’t leave God.
We left the version of God we were told we were allowed to know.
