Wings Early Childhood Center

We are now enrolling for Fall 2026 for children ages 2.5 to 6 years old!

If you are a parent who values:
- Time outside (2-3 hours/day)
- A nature-based and project/play focused (NAEYC-aligned) kindergarten-prep curriculum
- Made from scratch healthy meals, baked goods, and fresh fruits
- Classroom environments that promote social skill building and friendship
- A bilingual classroom (for children 4+)

Wings Early Childhood Center might be the right place for you and your children!

We offer a sliding scale for tuition and children 4+ can access Colorado's "UPK" program to give you two free days EVERY WEEK from August 3rd, 2026 - May 31st, 2027.

We are also open 240 days/year to minimize the amount of time that you need to change your schedule to accommodate ours!

We had a great time at the 19th Hole Concert at Pagosa Springs Golf Club last night! Bob Hemenger played us some beautiful tunes, our awesome Board entertained the kids with a craft table, and we were excited to speak to the 220 attendees about everything we have going on here at Wings.

A couple of weekends ago, Wings had a booth at the Earth Day event at the PLPOA Clubhouse! It was great to see some of our existing students and parents and talk to all sorts of people interested in what we have been doing here at Wings!

We had two different bird feeders to make and some coloring that proved a hit!

Hopefully next year we will have good weather and can be outside!

Moody skies didn't deter our Preschoolers from going birdwatching today! We saw a dozen goslings, Yellow-headed blackbirds, egrets, white-faced Ibis, and so much more! It's awesome hearing our students learn to accurately identify so many of Pagosa's amazing creatures!

Wings has a rare IMMEDIATE FULL-TIME OPENING in our Infant room! If your child is between 3-12 months old, give us a call as quick as you can. 970-507-7155.

We are also enrolling for this Summer and Fall in both our Preschool and Prekindergarten classrooms (3-5y/o).

With Colorado's Universal Preschool Program, 4 y/os will get 2 free days every week from September-May!

If you haven't been to our school in the last 9 months, or maybe have never been here before, you should definitely schedule a tour!

We have transformed our curriculum and food menu, have our nature-based programming in full-swing, have a bilingual Prekindergarten classroom, added a small library, have some incredible (and consistent) teaching staff, and so much more!

What happens when it's a nature-based learning day but the weather is cold, wet, and windy? We bring the outside in!

Last Friday, Wings preschoolers bravely donned their full-body rain suits and ventured into the wind and rain. They scavenged the school grounds for sticks, twigs, and leaves and then made mud right on the classroom floor! (okay, maybe on a tarp on the floor)

Once they had all of their supplies ready, they made little bird nests and learned about Hatchlings!

This week Wings kicked off our new outdoor learning program called MUD Days (Messy, Unbound Discovery).

Learning in a classroom is great but learning outside is by far the most fun, memorable, and impactful! That is why we work hard to fulfil our mission as a nature-based Center and Preschool!

You just can't beat nature-based and our Prekindergarten classroom kids certainly agree!

Another successful morning of Coffee and Donuts for Wings Parents! It's so nice to see our parents slow down, even if just for a moment, to chat with one another and grab a vital cup of coffee before heading off for their busy days!
