We had a great turn out at the National Institute.

Chesterfield County placed 2nd in the Nation in two competitions. Jackson Rainwater from Cheraw was 2nd in Ag Expressions. In this competition Writers competing in the contest must submit a 400-500 word statement (essay) on a current agricultural or environmental topic that will provide a positive perspective of agriculture/renewable resource to an audience of both consumers and producers. These articles must address a current topic impacting agriculture.

Jordan Caldwell from Central was 2nd in Agriculture Communications. In this competition students are evaluated on their ability to effectively promote agriculture through presentations, media writing, digital communication, networking and written communication.

Tonight we heard from Dr. Robert Carter, a Forestry and Wildlife Agent with Clemson Extension, who presented on Silvopasture, a method of agricultural production that combines timber and livestock production on the same property.

We would like to extend our congratulations to our chapter members: Petey Rushing, who was selected as the 2025 South Carolina Farmer & Agribusiness Association Chapter President of the Year, and Gracie Helms, who was named Region 3 Vice President. We would also like to thank Chad McManus for serving as Region 3 Vice President for the last two years. Also, we are delighted to announce that our chapter received the Largest Chapter Membership Award for Region 3.
