šŸ§ šŸ“š Learning about child development gets a creative twist in Mrs. Henley’s Early Lifespan Development classes!

Students have been studying influential child development theorists and the impact their ideas continue to have on the world today. To bring their learning to life, students created ā€œTheorist Buddiesā€ to help present information about their chosen theorist and key contributions to the field.

A fun and creative way to make important concepts stick!

High Attendance Day is Wednesday, September 9! ā¤ļøšŸ–¤

Regular attendance sets the tone for success! High Attendance Day is recognized across Kentucky as a reminder of just how important it is for students to be in school, on time, and ready to learn every day.

Let’s fill the halls, show up strong, and make September 9 a GREAT day to be a Mustang!

At McCracken County High School, we are incredibly proud of the many ways our students choose to learn, grow, and showcase their talents.

We are proud to celebrate our students’ passion for the arts and to offer this new distinction honoring their hard work and achievement.

A new distinction is coming to McCracken County High School!

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, graduating seniors will have the opportunity to earn the Seal of Arts Excellence in Dance, Music, Theatre or Visual Art.

Students pursuing the seal will complete focused study in their chosen discipline and submit a mastery portfolio for review by arts professionals. Those who earn the distinction will receive recognition on their official transcript and an embossed seal on their diploma.

We are excited to offer another way to recognize the talent, creativity and dedication of our MCHS students!

Our HOSA members and HEPS Academy students are putting their skills into action by helping restock and replenish the Baptist Health emergency go-bags located throughout MCHS classrooms.

Students will inventory each bag, identify supplies that need to be replaced or added, organize additional materials, and return each fully stocked bag to its assigned classroom.

This project is a great example of career-connected, hands-on learning with a real purpose—giving students valuable experience while also supporting the safety and preparedness of our school community.

Mrs. Atnip’s AP Biology students took learning beyond the textbook with a hands-on lab using mealworms!

Mealworm labs give students the opportunity to explore important biological concepts like animal behavior, responses to environmental stimuli, cellular respiration, and energy dynamics while making observations, collecting data, and thinking like scientists.

At MCHS, some of the best learning happens when students can see it, test it, and experience it for themselves!

We are proud to recognize MCHS senior Carson Chesnut for continuing to represent our school and community on stages across Kentucky!

Carson is a Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts alum in Musical Theatre and the 2025 KPA Bradley Awards Best Actor in a Leading Role recipient—not to mention an active member of our MCHS Theatre and Vocal Departments!

Most recently, Carson represented Kentucky Performing Arts at the Kentucky State Fair, where he kicked off the Kentucky Farm Bureau Ham Breakfast and Auction with a performance of ā€œMy Old Kentucky Home.ā€

Congratulations, Carson! We are so proud to see you sharing your talent across the Commonwealth!

Thank you, Kentucky Performing Arts, for featuring Carson!

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Exploring Opportunities Beyond High School!

This week, students had the opportunity to hear from representatives of the U.S. Army during HERD time and learn more about the career, education, training, and service opportunities available after graduation.

HERD is a great time for our Mustangs to explore the many paths available after high school and begin thinking about what their future could look like.

We appreciate the U.S. Army for spending time with our students and sharing another option for life after MCHS!
