We are pleased to announce that Lieutenant Tray English was recently elected as firefighter representative for the West McCracken Fire District Board of Directors. He currently serves full-time at the McCracken County Jail holding the rank of Major and fulfilling the role as President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 15. Prior to his employment at the jail, he served Paducah Fire Department in the Fire Prevention Division.
Lieutenant English is certified by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress in the areas of Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazardous Material Operations, Pumper/Aerial/mobile water supply operator, and Fire Instructor 2 and is a licensed EMT in the state of Kentucky.
“I’m extremely excited about the future with Lieutenant English serving as Firefighter Representative for our Board of Directors. Tray’s long history of employment and experience in both city and county government will undoubtedly be an asset in this position. I can say from experience that Lt. English has a knack for attention to detail that will serve both the firefighters and members of the community well. His knowledge and work history in radio equipment and electronics were instrumental in accomplishing our recent upgrade in radio equipment and I would be grateful to have him in any position that involves decision making and the collaborative effort that determines our path forward in the future. I know for a fact that our views are aligned in that we’re both excited to see what we can accomplish in the future while still valuing our history and traditions. I’m proud to have him not only as a member of this organization, but also as a friend.” -Chief Howard
