We’re incredibly proud of Time on the String student Sam Lynn! 🎶

Sam has received the Kentucky Arts Council’s 2026–2027 Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant and will study bluegrass music with accomplished musician and educator Scott Napier.

What a well-deserved opportunity for this talented young musician!

Congratulations to McCracken County High School senior Sam Lynn, who has received the Kentucky Arts Council’s 2026–2027 Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant!

Sam will study bluegrass music with accomplished musician and educator Scott Napier, compose an original song and perform publicly in Paducah and Owensboro. After graduation, Sam plans to continue his music education at East Tennessee State University.

We are proud to see Sam sharing his talent while helping preserve and advance Kentucky’s rich bluegrass tradition!

A few weeks later, and we’re still thinking about this incredible afternoon with the HAAS Sisters. 🎻

Our students had the opportunity to learn from two exceptionally talented musicians who don’t just perform on violin and cello—they also write, compose, and bring their own original ideas to life through music.
Throughout the workshop, the HAAS Sisters shared their knowledge, encouraged our students to listen differently, and gave them a closer look at the creativity and dedication behind making music together.

🎉 Congratulations to our Student of the Month, Clare McPherson!

Clare is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays fiddle, mandolin, and guitar—and she has recently started adding singing to her musical journey! Inspired by artists like Tyler Childers, Clare brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a love for authentic music to every lesson.

Her talents and leadership extend far beyond the studio. Clare is actively involved in FFA, where she demonstrates the same hard work and commitment she brings to her music. When she isn’t practicing, you can usually find her spending time with her horse, Champ, hunting, or enjoying the outdoors.

Clare’s love for country life, adventure, and learning new skills shines through in everything she does. We are so proud of the growth she has shown as both a musician and a leader, and we cannot wait to see where her talents take her next!

We are incredibly honored to have Patrick Padgett and one of our favorite Time on the String classes featured in the July/August issue of Paducah Life Magazine.

“The Beat Goes On” takes readers inside Patrick’s bucket-drumming class, where students are learning so much more than rhythm. They are learning to listen, work together, build confidence, and understand how their individual part contributes to something bigger.

That is what we love most about music education. It is not simply about learning the notes. It is about connection, creativity, and giving students a place to belong.

What a fun afternoon of music at Time on the String last weekend! 🎻

We loved hosting the HAAS Sisters for a special workshop with our students and families. This incredible violin and cello duo taught us one of their original pieces by ear, shared so many helpful tips, and helped us learn new ways to play together.

A huge thank you to 1 1 year itch and the HAAS Sisters for making this event possible.

⭐ Student of the Month: Karson Walters ⭐
We are excited to recognize Karson Walters as our June Student of the Month!
Karson is 8 years old and has been taking piano lessons with Patrick Padgett for two years. He loves Messi and soccer, and he is always ready to sit down at the piano when he walks through Patrick’s door.
Karson has an excellent feel for music and a strong sense of rhythm. We are so proud of the talented young musician he is becoming!

Our Time on the String Rock Band had an incredible time performing at Cars & Guitars in downtown Paducah this weekend!
We are so proud of these musicians for the time, courage, and hard work they put into preparing for this performance.
