🎸 Student of the Month: Sam Walters! 🎉

We’re excited to celebrate Sam Walters as our Student of the Month!

Sam came into lessons with an already impressive talent on the guitar, but what has stood out even more is his desire to keep learning and growing. Through hard work, consistency, and a genuine love for music, Sam continues to expand his skills and challenge himself as a musician.

Whether he’s playing with the worship band at his church or impressing his friends with what he can do, Sam is using his talent to make our community a more musical place.

We’re proud of you, Sam! Keep playing, keep learning, and keep sharing your love of music! 🎶👏

Give it up for August's Student of the Month, Garner Mobley!
He is well known as the star member of the bluegrass gospel group “Garner & The Grasshoppers,” and is a top notch young fiddler! Garner can often be found performing in his church or jamming with his dad and friends, holding his own with fiddlers much older and experienced than him. He is a determined learner with a quick wit that makes every lesson a blast. We wish him the best on his next adventure as he relocates to Ohio and continues to hone his musical skills!

A few weeks later, and we’re still thinking about this incredible afternoon with the HAAS Sisters. 🎻

Our students had the opportunity to learn from two exceptionally talented musicians who don’t just perform on violin and cello—they also write, compose, and bring their own original ideas to life through music.
Throughout the workshop, the HAAS Sisters shared their knowledge, encouraged our students to listen differently, and gave them a closer look at the creativity and dedication behind making music together.
This video captures just a few of our favorite moments from the day. We’re so grateful to the HAAS Sisters for spending time with our students and inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Take a look inside the workshop—and turn the sound up!

🎉 Congratulations to our Student of the Month, Clare McPherson!

Clare is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays fiddle, mandolin, and guitar—and she has recently started adding singing to her musical journey! Inspired by artists like Tyler Childers, Clare brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a love for authentic music to every lesson.

Her talents and leadership extend far beyond the studio. Clare is actively involved in FFA, where she demonstrates the same hard work and commitment she brings to her music. When she isn’t practicing, you can usually find her spending time with her horse, Champ, hunting, or enjoying the outdoors.

Clare’s love for country life, adventure, and learning new skills shines through in everything she does. We are so proud of the growth she has shown as both a musician and a leader, and we cannot wait to see where her talents take her next!
Keep up the amazing work, Clare! 🎻🎸🎤

We are incredibly honored to have Patrick Padgett and one of our favorite Time on the String classes featured in the July/August issue of Paducah Life Magazine.

“The Beat Goes On” takes readers inside Patrick’s bucket-drumming class, where students are learning so much more than rhythm. They are learning to listen, work together, build confidence, and understand how their individual part contributes to something bigger.

That is what we love most about music education. It is not simply about learning the notes. It is about connection, creativity, and giving students a place to belong.
Thank you to Shannon Webb and Paducah Life for capturing the heart behind this class so beautifully.

What a fun afternoon of music at Time on the String last weekend! 🎻

We loved hosting the HAAS Sisters for a special workshop with our students and families. This incredible violin and cello duo taught us one of their original pieces by ear, shared so many helpful tips, and helped us learn new ways to play together.

A huge thank you to 1 1 year itch and the HAAS Sisters for making this event possible.
