A LITTLE REINTRODUCTION TO SHEPHERD MUSIC! 🎶

If you’re new here, welcome! And if you’ve been following along for a while, thank you for being here!

I want to take a moment to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Shepherd Music, whether you’ve shared my posts, started taking lessons, trusted me to teach your child or grandchild, or hired Glassy Mountain Band to play for your church, wedding, family gathering, or special event. Every bit of support means so much!

My name is James Shepherd, and music has been a part of my life since I picked up my first guitar at 7 years old. After I started guitar I then picked up the banjo and learned piano. After that I started learning other instruments such as the bass, mandolin and dobro. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to play in multiple churches, multiple bluegrass groups, at places like Dollywood and Reno Fest, and now with Glassy Mountain Band.

Over the past 6 years teaching music has become something I truly love.

I’m only able to do this because God gave me the gift of music, and I want to share that gift with others just as previous teachers shared theirs with me. There’s nothing better than watching someone learn, grow, and develop a love for music of their own!

A little throwback to Christmas 2024

We put this group together at the last minute to play a toy drive in Maggie Valley for families still recovering from Hurricane Helene.

So thankful for Adam Edwards, Savanna Roberts and Scott Ferguson for coming up and bearing the cold and the snow with me. It’s amazing what can come together when people are willing to serve.
