Lately I’ve been noticing a small and interesting shift in some film programs.

Schools like Eckerd, UCSB, American University and others are exploring areas like:
* environmental documentary
* climate storytelling
* science communication
* sustainable production

There are very much filmmaking pipelines, but not necessarily in the traditional Hollywood way. And that’s part of what makes them interesting.

For students who love storytelling, but are also drawn to science sustainability, environmental studies, journalism, advocacy, or documentary work this may be a space worth investigating

Second day of a 5 day college tour. Started off at Hofstra. Growing up in NY I have always heard about Hofstra but never got the chance to visit. The wait was worth it. The School of Communication boasts brand new state of the art facilities and a soundstage that is the second largest in the East Coast after HBO. I was also very taken by the department that specializes in FIRST GEN students. Truly one of the most sophisticated approaches to first GEN students that I’ve ever heard.
