Myofunctional Therapy is a series of exercises that improve the function of oral and facial muscles, focusing on proper tongue posture, breathing, and jaw alignment to enhance overall health and well-being. The Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) is the leading, comprehensive mini-residency training for post-graduate health care providers wanting to become Orofacial Myologists/Myofun
ctional Therapists. Our goal is to have every student successful at developing a clinically and professionally rewarding practice. In addition to courses, we endeavour to increase awareness of OMT amongst the medical, dental, and academic communities to support the acceptance and progress of this profession world-wide. We offer a comprehensive four-day training course for dental, medical and speech professionals. Incorporate Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) into your practice. This is an Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) approved course for advanced study in Orofacial Myofunctional Myology and offers AGD and ASHA CEU's. OMT is a program used to correct breathing, swallowing and chewing disorders, normalize freeway space, help stabilize the bite, and eliminate noxious oral habits such as tongue-thrusting and thumb-sucking. Learn to recognize and treat the symptoms of OM disorders, how to re-pattern oral muscles for long term retention, the latest research, and how to integrate and market OMT. Stabilize orthodontic/surgical/dental results. We offer further on-going assistance via the Internet with professional problems you may have. We also offer internships and study club meetings. We also have a networked referral system for receiving new patients from doctors in your area. We schedule several courses throughout the year at various locations across the North America and the world. A Comprehensive Course in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
