Dear Parents,
We hope this week finds you and your family safe and well! We miss all of you terribly and cannot wait for a time when it will be safe to be together again!
You should all have been contacted by your child's teachers to begin the google hangouts meetings. You should also be receiving weekly activities via email to do with your children if you are so inclined. The flip grid lessons are to be posted so you will have something to show your child daily. We hope these different opportunities work in some way for your family.
We hope you are doing something from the variety of opportunities to you daily. Please only do what you can; we know this is a challenging time for all. If you need anything from us please email us at [email protected]. The email is checked several times a day. If you call the office we will get your message but it may take more time because it is checked every other day.
I will be in the office every Tuesday if you need anything or need to pick anything up. Please call the office at (718)641-7754 before yo arrive so I can make sure I am there for you.
Be safe and well until we meet again.
Miss Gail

Dear Parents,
A colleague of mine shared this with me and I thought each of us could use these encouraging words.
Dear Parents,
We hope you all had a wonderful and Blessed Easter celebration and continue to have a peaceful Passover.
You may have all heard the announcement the Mayor has made regarding school closures as well as the Governor. We at Little Dolphin will follow whatever the directive is from the state of New York. As soon as we have anything definitive we will announce it.
We have also had to change our live meeting platform Zoom. Each teacher will reach out to you by Wednesday of this week to determine what the new platform will be and how to join.
We know this has been a particularly trying time and we hope you are all doing well.
Please stay safe and healthy.
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you all safe and well. As you may already know we will continue are remote learning through our previously scheduled time off. We will continue our class meetings as well as use our flip grid activities.
We hope you all have a Blessed holiday no matter what your religious affiliation is.
Our activity suggestions for the week:
Fine Motor - This week try a different tool you may find at home like glue - Glueing single items on a paper. For example, cut up small pieces of paper or use small items like sequins or pieces of pasta and let your child create a piece of art by pasting each item one at a time.
Gross Motor - The weather will hopefully continue to get better - be outside and stay a safe distance from others! Walk, run, jump, hop. Play a game like hop scotch. Remember young kids need to move their bodies!
Language - This week try and play this game with your child. Write the letters of their first name on a separate piece of paper each. Then choose a room in the house like their bedroom, or the kitchen. Have your child find an object that begins with each of those letters.
Mathematics - As we have mentioned before, many household chores require math skills (sorting laundry or setting the table) This week see if you can incorporate your child in the preparation of our food. You can do this by having them involved by measuring items, or mixing items, or counting things out, following the recipe, retrieving ingredients for a recipe, etc.
Science - This week try some sinking float activity. Fill the bath tub with water. (doesn't have to be more than a few inches of water across the tub) have your child pick a 3 items and you pick 3 items and have them test whether you think it will sink or float. Have your child draw a picture of the items that floated, Can they guess why they floated instead of sank?
Social Studies - Lets dress up and make believe! This week its imagine we are postal workers. Lets make a card or write a letter to a family member we haven't been able to see and teach them how to mail it!
Stay Safe and Well!
