At Jefferson West, we know that appointments are important and family vacation/special events create lifelong memories. We also know that being in school every day matters.

We have created this 2026-2027 Family Vacation Planner—to help families schedule trips and appointments during natural breaks in the school calendar whenever possible.

While we understand that some absences are unavoidable, planning ahead can help students stay engaged and minimize missed learning.

SKYWARD Update...
During post-upgrade testing, Skyward identified additional areas within the Skyward environment that require further maintenance and attention. As a result, the maintenance process is taking longer than originally anticipated as teams work to ensure a successful and stable upgrade.

Current status checks indicate that Skyward is back in service and operational following the widespread login and WebSpeed errors that affected many users yesterday. Monitoring services report that the outage has been resolved, although some users may still experience temporary caching or session issues as systems stabilize.

If you're still having trouble:
Refresh the page or clear your browser cache.
Close and reopen the app/browser.
Try logging in again after a few minutes.
If the issue persists, contact your school district's Skyward administrator, as some districts may restore service at slightly different times.

Whether you're a seasoned runner, casual walker, or simply want to support Jefferson West Cross Country, we'd love to see you!

🏅 Awards
Medals awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and gender.
The top three overall women and top three overall men will each receive a beautiful piece of handcrafted pottery created by retired Jefferson West art teacher Mark Ralston.

⏱️ Professional Timing
Morgan Sports Timing will once again provide race timing. Craig has done a fantastic job timing the Tiger 5K over the past several years.

💙 Support Jefferson West Cross Country
All proceeds benefit the Jefferson West Cross Country program by helping provide team meals and needed supplies throughout the season.

A reminder to all staff, students, parents, and community members –

Monday, 6/29 through Sunday, 7/5 is Summer Moratorium per KSHSAA. There shall be NO school related athletic activities. During this time coaches (licensed teacher coaches and coach aides employed by member schools) are prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student athletes whether it be practice, training, weight lifting, conditioning, competition or travel. All Jefferson West USD 340 athletic facilities will be closed during this period to school personnel and students grades 7-12. If Jefferson West USD 340 athletic facilities also serve as non-school community recreation facilities, these facilities may remain open during the moratorium so long as no Jefferson West USD 340 teams are playing and no Jefferson West USD 340 coaches/coach aides are coaching the teams/individuals. During this one-week dead period, students may attend camps or competitions but may not do so with their school coaches. This moratorium does not impact fine arts or spirit activities.
