Important WFC Update

Due to the triathlon taking place in Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park, The WaterFront Center will be closed this morning and tomorrow morning.

We will reopen at 12:00 PM (noon) on Saturday, 8/22 & Sunday, 8/23.

Please plan your visit accordingly, and best of luck to everyone participating in the triathlon!

We look forward to welcoming you to the waterfront this afternoon.

We are currently looking for volunteers to join the crew of our historic CHRISTEEN! As a member of The 1883 Society, you will help connect people to the water by helping to sail CHRISTEEN for our harbor sails, educational sails, sunset cruises, etc. Volunteers also receive exclusive benefits, such as exclusive events and recognition.

Our 2026 Junior Summer Camp is officially over! It was an amazing Summer filled with laughter, learning, and on-the-water fun! Summer may be ending soon, but the fun doesn’t have to.

What a great day celebrating Long Island Sound!

This past Saturday, families from across Long Island, NYC, and beyond joined us in Oyster Bay for Long Island Sound Exploration Day 2026!

Together with Long Island Sound Partnership, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and New York Sea Grant, we welcomed the community for a free day of fishing, kayaking, hands-on science, and boat trips aboard our historic IDA MAY.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We hope this was just the beginning. Follow The WaterFront Center and stay connected for more opportunities to get out on the water, explore Long Island Sound, and be part of our waterfront community.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝘆 — and onto the water at The WaterFront Center!

Hear from WFC parent Paul, whose family traveled from Hong Kong and discovered The WaterFront Center for the first time. Paul shares how they found us, his family’s connection to sailing, his children’s experience on the C420 Race Team, and his advice for other parents considering sailing for their kids.

Their story is a great reminder of how meaningful time on the water can be—building confidence, skills, independence, and a love of sailing.

Our Fall Youth Sailing Programs give both new and returning sailors the opportunity to keep learning, building skills, and spending time on the water throughout the fall.

Whether your child is continuing from summer or joining us for the first time, fall is a beautiful time to sail in Oyster Bay.
