The Marilou Padilla Gallardo Piano/Organ/Keyboard Studio, in operation since 1990, is based in Oxon Hill, MD with a large following of over ninety enrolled keyboard students from the metro Maryland, D.C. and Virginia areas.The studio specializes in private instruction in piano,electronic keyboard and organ from beginner to advanced levels. The studio accepts students from ages 4 to adult ages.
The emphasis of the studio is in the development of the keyboard performer to advanced stages of performing. Lesson programs are designed to meet the specific individual needs of each student.This includes a balance of method studies,theory,sight reading,technique and repertoire appropriate to the graded student level of proficiency of the student. Concert repertoire for study include classical,jazz,religious/gospel,Latin,Filipino and contemporary popular music.Studio concerts,recitals and other performance opportunities and venues are available for the benefit of the students. The studio was founded by Marilou Padilla Gallardo.As a noted educator and respected piano and organ instructor in the greater Washington D.C./MD/VA areas, Ms.Gallardo,owner and principal operator of the studio has been the recipient of multiple music awards and grants in student development and teacher excellence such as the 2003 Jordan Kitt Memorial Grant Award given by the Maryland State Music Teacher's Association. In 2002,Ms.Gallardo also founded the MPG Keyboard Artists and Friends,a non profit organization with 501(c)3 status sponsoring cultural and concert community events to promote awareness in the keyboard performing arts. In 2006, she was a member of an international jury of a piano competition sponsored by the World Pedagogy Piano Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, she is an active member of The Music Teachers National Association, The Maryland State Music Teachers Association, The National Guild of Piano Teachers and the Prince George’s County Music Teachers Association.
