For decades, it has been common for Habitat volunteers to leave their signature or notes on the wood framework of the homes they are working on. David, a Habitat homeowner in New Jersey, reflected on this practice saying, “The house has a nice spirit. Imagine a house built with all of these wishes and blessings.”

When volunteers help build a Habitat for Humanity home, they are leaving their mark on a homeowner’s life in many ways. Often volunteers are able to sign the wooden beams within the home they are working on and their legacy is left within the foundation of the home. A home that was built with many hands and with many blessings. 🏠
