Tutor spotlight: Carina Tinker

Carina Tinker has enjoyed working with students in K-12 education since 2007. She has served as both a general education intervention teacher and special education teacher. During her time with the highly-rated Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District she implemented evidence-based intervention practices while facilitating Response to Intervention programs, helping many students close the gap in their academic knowledge and have greater success in the classroom. Currently, at Mound Elementary School she facilitates specialized academic instruction and collaborates with families as well as school-based specialists within IEP teams. Carina presently serves as a 2nd/3rd grade teacher for students with Autism and holds a Master’s of Science degree in Special Education as well as an Education Specialist Clear Credential. Carina is a native to Ventura County where she lives with her husband and daughter. She loves teaching and helping students achieve their educational goals.
