Thank you to every family who joined us for E.O. Green’s Back to School Night! It was wonderful to see our halls filled with students, families, and staff coming together to start the year. 🐝💚

Our students helped make the evening special. Mariachi, Folklórico, Cheer, and Theater each gave families a glimpse of the programs and opportunities available for students to explore their interests, build confidence, and find their place at E.O. Green.

We’re grateful for the chance to connect with you, introduce our staff, and share what your students can be part of this year. Every family who showed up helped make the night feel like the kind of school community we’re building together. Thank you for being part of it!👏🏻

Today, the County of Ventura Board of Supervisors recognized Community Schools Month with a proclamation. We are proud to be a Community School at E.O. Green and part of the work happening across Hueneme Elementary School District and Ventura County.

This work belongs to our whole community. Students, families, staff, district colleagues, and community partners all help make E.O. Green a place where students and families feel connected and supported. We were glad to see our Community Schools Coordinator recognized today as part of that shared effort.

Hoy, la Junta de Supervisores del Condado de Ventura conmemoró el Mes de las Escuelas Comunitarias mediante una proclamación. Nos enorgullece que E.O. Green sea una escuela comunitaria y formar parte de la labor que se lleva a cabo en todo el Distrito Escolar de Primaria de Hueneme y en el Condado de Ventura.

We are loving the journey of shaping E.O. Green into a true Community School, and we absolutely couldn't do it without YOU!🤝 Together, we’re reimagining how our campus can best support, connect, and reflect our amazing neighborhood.🏫💛

Last Thursday, we shared a great dinner 🍽️ and had some fantastic, grounded conversations about the future. From discussing the important roles of our Community School Council to gathering your ideas for our 2026–27 school goals, it was so inspiring to see parents and staff teaming up for our students! 📈

Green, we aren't just teaching students—we are building leaders! 🚀 We're proud to provide and take full advantage of top-tier leadership opportunities that empower our youth to become productive, compassionate members of our school community. Our partnership with VCOE's Wellness Peer Training program empowers students to uplift our campus by learning how to:

🤝Serve as a trusted support system & resource for classmates
🏫Guide peers to our Wellness Center
❤️️Champion a safe, inclusive, and welcoming campus for all
🗣 Master communication and public speaking skills

A huge thank you to VCOE for bringing this training to our site! 🙌🏼Special shout-outs to Mrs. Rios for coordinating and leading this effort, and Mrs. Alvarez-Rice for supporting our students every step of the way. We are setting our students up for success, and we couldn't do it without this amazing team! 👏✨

What a fantastic day making music and building community with our neighbors at Hueneme High School! 🎶🎷

A huge, special THANK YOU to our incredible band teacher, Mr. Evans, and HHS Band Director, Ms. Keys, for collaborating to make this happen. Your dedication to bringing our students together is truly inspiring! 🙌🏼✨

It was especially heartwarming to have our former Hornets return to our band room, now proudly playing as Vikings. We love seeing our alumni continue their musical journeys and share their talents with the next generation! 💚

📚✨ Our first Professional Learning Day at E.O. Green was a great opportunity for our teachers to learn, collaborate, and grow together!

A special thank you to our community partners at the Ventura County Office of Education, Mr. Ridge, Ms. Salas, and Dr. Ramos, for spending the day at Green and working alongside our teachers. We also want to thank our partners from UC Santa Barbara for providing a writing workshop that supported our teachers in strengthening instructional practices for our students.

As we continue this work, we are proud to build partnerships not only across Ventura County, but also with our higher education partners. These collaborations help us expand opportunities for professional learning, strengthen instruction, and provide meaningful supports for all learners.

We are grateful for the commitment of our Green staff and for the partners who continue to invest in our teachers and students. 💚

📚✨ ¡Nuestra primera Jornada de Aprendizaje Profesional en E.O. Green fue una excelente oportunidad para que nuestros maestros aprendieran, colaboraran y crecieran juntos!

Our Hornets took on the ultimate Tower Building Challenge last week during lunch!🏗️

It is so incredible to see our students building genuine connections and community through hands-on collaboration. The HIVE is all about bringing students together, and this activity was the perfect way to spend a lunch break sharing laughs, testing ideas, and working as a team. To win, our Hornets had to think critically like engineers—strategizing how to build wider bases, create sturdy interlocking layers, and fold materials to construct the absolute tallest freestanding tower possible! 📐🧠

We love seeing so much enthusiasm, teamwork, and friendship happening right in the middle of the school day. 💛

¡La semana pasada, durante el almuerzo, nuestros Hornets aceptaron el gran desafío de construir torres! 🏗️

Es increíble ver a nuestros estudiantes forjar vínculos auténticos y fortalecer la comunidad mediante la colaboración práctica. El objetivo de "The HIVE" es unir a los estudiantes, y esta actividad fue la manera perfecta de aprovechar el recreo para reír, poner a prueba ideas y trabajar en equipo. Para ganar, nuestros Hornets tuvieron que pensar de forma crítica, como ingenieros: idearon estrategias para construir bases más anchas, crear capas sólidas y entrelazadas, y doblar materiales con el fin de levantar la torre autoportante más alta posible. 📐🧠
