Knot-ical Skills in the Making! ⚓️🪢

There is nothing quite like watching the next generation of sailors find their "sea legs." Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting a bright group of explorers from the YMCA on board the Mystic Whaler!

From learning the history of our tall ship to getting some serious hands-on practice with traditional sailors' arts, these kids jumped right in. Seeing their focus as they mastered their first knots is exactly why we love what we do at Mystic Ocean Adventures.

By the end of the day, they weren't just kids; they were part of the crew. Future bosuns in training? We think so!

We cannot change the external circumstances of our lives, but we have complete control over how we respond to them.

It is with profound sadness that we share the devastating news of the passing of beloved MOA board member Jane Thomas yesterday evening.

This is not just a loss for MOA, her passing is a tremendous loss for the local sailing community, the women's sailing community, Channel Islands Yacht Club, Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club, and all of her many friends.

While we know her spirit is now free, we will so miss Jane, her positivity, her strength, her kindness, and her steady hand. We just wish we had so many more years to share with you, Jane.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jane's husband, Kenny, and all of her family and friends.
